Amnesty International

Avondale College has its own group of active students who meet to support Amnesty International's campaigns for Human Rights. All are welcome to join in.

Recently the group has run fundraising activities for the annual Freedom Challenge Week which have involved the whole school in mufti-days, bake sales, Library displays, poster production and wearing badges to show awareness of the issue being highlighted. The freedom granted to Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma is the latest and most positive outcome of world pressure, in which Amnesty is a key player.
