Lacrosse
Lacrosse has been a developing sport in New Zealand over the last five years, and Avondale College has been highly competitive during this time, winning both the Auckland and the New Zealand Championships in 2008 and 2009.
In 2010 there are two girls teams and one boys team.
The Premier Girls team trains on Tuesday mornings, and the girls Development Squad trains on Monday afternoons. The teams compete in the Auckland Secondary Schools competition, and games are played on Thursdays after school.
Avondale College students have gone on to do well in this sport, with former student Simone Phillips playing for the New Zealand Women’s team at the World Championships last year. Currently five Avondale students are in the New Zealand U19 team.
Premier Girls - Lacrosse Champions!
Congratulations to the Premier Girls who not only won their Auckland competition, but also took home the cup from Auckland's one day tournament in August.
