Avondale College students are well equipped for this sport, with our own rock climbing wall in the Gymnasium as well as all the necessary harnesses, climbing ropes and belaying equipment. All PE staff are trained in safety requirements for the sport and the wall is used regularly by Year 11, Year 13 and Junior PE classes.

 

The Rock Climbing club makes use of the climbing wall in their own training and also makes visits to other walls in the Auckland region. The club has previously competed in the Auckland Championships competition.
