We would like to advise you that the PPTA has confirmed strike action on Thursday 4 May 2023 for Year 11 students. On this day PPTA members will not be teaching Year 11 students, so we advise Year 11 students only, to study from home on Thursday. The school will be open as normal for all other year levels.
Year 11 students should continue with their work and study independently on Thursday, which may include finishing classwork, doing homework, working towards assessments or going over class notes.
A small number of non-union staff will be available to supervise students if required. Should your child need supervision for the day, please email: admin@avcol.school.nz.
We are aware that further strike action has been signalled for other year groups over the coming weeks and will pass on details as these are confirmed. Yours faithfully
