Girls in Stem interactive workshop

On Wednesday, March 26, the Girls in STEM (GiS) Club hosted a fun, hands-on workshop exploring non-Newtonian fluids. Participants created oobleck—a mix of cornstarch and water that behaves as both a liquid and a solid under different forces.

The girls experimented by poking, stirring, and rolling their oobleck, observing how it hardened under pressure and turned back into a liquid when relaxed. This interactive activity introduced them to shear-thickening fluids found in everyday life, like ketchup and quicksand.
