Ms Rachel Lamb has recently been appointed as Avondale College’s Director of Careers.
After many years teaching science, she discovered a passion for helping young people understand themselves and their future possibilities. This led her to complete a postgraduate diploma in Careers Education and later to work closely with the Careers Department and as the school’s Refugee Coordinator, supporting students to navigate new systems and build confidence.
She has also completed postgraduate study in teaching linguistically diverse learners, using science as a context for developing English language skills. Across every role, Ms Lamb has been drawn to supporting students who need help recognising their strengths and finding meaningful pathways, making the Careers Director role a natural next step. As she says, this is where she feels “best placed to serve students on the next stage of their journey.”
