Avondale College student Oscar Shaw was amongst New Zealand's highest-achieving students whose success was celebrated at an awards ceremony held at Parliament on 8 May 2024.
Oscar received the award for the Top Scholar in Drama, following his outstanding achievement in the NZ Scholarship exam last year.
Avondale College's Principal Lyndy Watkinson was also in attendance at the special awards ceremony.
"It was a real pleasure to see Oscar recognised for outstanding Drama performance skills and his flair for critical analysis," she says.
"I was very proud to see him standing amongst New Zealand's top scholars."
Notably, this is the second year running that the top award for Drama has been presented to an Avondale College student, with Molly Tate receiving the award in 2022.
