Avondale College celebrated a fantastic year in sport at our annual Sports Awards night on Thursday 24 October.
The event honoured athletes, coaches and staff who have shown excellence and leadership throughout the year. Eleven students who have received national honours this year were also recognised.
Guest speaker was former Black Stick Samantha Charlton, who spoke about her journey towards three Olympic campaigns and lessons learned along the way. Her two key pieces of advice to our young athletes were to control what you can, and to find purpose in the process.
Receiving the top awards of the Jason Twigg trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Sport were swimmer Jacob Story and netballer Prisicilla Rasmussen.
Congratulations to all who received awards, and particularly our top award winners. For a full list of recipients, please download PDF below.
