Congratulations to all of our dancers who represented Avondale College at the Velocity Dance Competition this week. It was a fantastic day of performances, with our students demonstrating their dedication, artistry, and passion for dance while achieving some outstanding results.
In the Year 11–13 Solo Division, Summer Warhaft delivered an exceptional performance, placing 2nd overall and earning the second-highest score across the entire competition. Her remarkable achievement was recognised with a Platinum Gold Award. Scarlett Pamatatau also enjoyed great success, placing 3rd in the same division, while Freya Wester and Naren Shen received Honourable Mentions for their performances.
Our younger dancers also impressed in the Year 9–10 Solo Division, with Ellie Mills achieving 3rd place and Mia Yates receiving an Honourable Mention.
In the group sections, our Contemporary Team was awarded a Platinum Gold Award and finished as the 5th highest-ranked group of the competition, an outstanding accomplishment against strong competition. Our Jazz Group also performed beautifully and was recognised with a High Gold Award.
We are incredibly proud of all of our dancers for the commitment, resilience, and enthusiasm they have shown throughout the season. Their willingness to challenge themselves and support one another continues to make the Avondale College Dance Department something truly special.
Congratulations to everyone involved – we are excited for the many opportunities and performances still to come this year!
