Avondale College proudly celebrated Languages Week from 22–25 June, a vibrant lead- in to Cultural Day. The week showcased the richness of our languages programme, with Spanish, French, Japanese, Samoan and Māori students leading interactive lunchtime activities in the Atrium on Thursday. Students from across the school visited language stations, completed challenges, and collected stamps in their “passport” for a chance to win prizes.
Junior students took on leadership roles, teaching basic greetings, games and cultural knowledge, while senior Languages students hosted quizzes and kept the energy high. The event was a fantastic success, promoting cultural diversity, student leadership, and a shared appreciation for global languages within our school community.
