Young & old bond over school experiences

Our Transition class recently welcomed residents from Avondale Lifecare to Avondale College for a morning of conversation and connection. The students interviewed the visitors using open-ended questions, a task that would have felt quite daunting for many of them just a few months ago.

For some of the Rosehill residents, it was their first time back in a high school environment in more than 70 years. They were impressed by the Atrium and the college grounds, and enjoyed seeing how much schools have changed over the years. Several residents were particularly interested in learning about how artificial intelligence (AI) is being used in students' studies today.

After sharing stories and enjoying morning tea together, it was time to say farewell. Both the students and residents agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience, with everyone appreciating the opportunity to learn from one another.
